Hi There,

I have a 150G with 6 Angles, platies, clown loaches, neons, 1 bristle nose pleco, 1 tiger pleco,2 siamese algea eaters, 2 flying fox, 3 cory fish and I think that's it. When I was at my LFS last week there was 2 very large discuss for sale. I'm not sure of thier proper name but they had a redish/brown background with some blue markings on top. They were at least 7" in diameter if not more, and at least 1-2" thick. Just beautiful. They were going for 70.00 each!!! Now, I would love to get them.........should I? I was told that my pleco would probably suck on them and harm them? Can some one please give me some sound advise? I will try to add a pic of my tank to this thread tonight.

Thanks

can you get a pic of the discuss.... . that size discuss arround me are always over 100 so its a good deal imo

Hi Nic,

The store is actually a 45 minute drive from home and I only go 2 a month. If I go again soon I will. Can you tell me if you would buy them if you were in my situation?

if they are as big and nice and healthy as you desribed then i would have bought them....

i wouldnt worry about the pleco at first you will have time to react if they attack

Just keep a slice of squash somewhere in the tank most of the time for the pleco to gnaw on, takes a long time for that particular vegetable to break up and foul the water column - you'll just have to change the slice out every day or something =)
