Question for the Concealed Carry guys - holster options

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey JC and pharaoh , not to get the thread off topic but I just made a post that has a video clip that you guys got to watch LOL

O I didn't know you was a lefty jose I will do some searchs for ya

Comp-tac and crossbreed make the best IWB and they are tuckable! The clips are designed in a way that you can have your gun in your waist band and still be able to tuck your shirt around the gun. You will just barely see the two clips on your belt. If you use the same color belt, youll have to look really hard to see them.

As for business casual, I carry a P32 in a Don Hum pocket holster. Looks like I have a blackberry in my pocket.

I have one for my .32 that fits in my pocket (Uncle Mike's Sidekick). It has a band on it that keeps it in your pocket instead of pulling out when you grab it. For my .45, I have an Aker flatsider paddle (268A). I guess it doesn't really matter if it's really concealed or not since I have a CCW and it's legal to open carry here (except in Denver), but it isn't easy w/ a t-shirt carrying the .45 concealed. Oversized hoodies work great in the winter, which I wear a lot.

i plan on putting mine in front of my pants. ill just lift up my shirt and growl to scare any muggers away. i will saw off my shotgun too to fit in my pants. i dont know what to do about my ak 74 though. that one is tricky

I have a HK P7 that fits nicely in an Uncle Mikes Sidekick holster. It is made to fit on the inside of my pocket and it has a clip to hold it in place.....For my Glock 21 I have a Fobus holster but it is a little bulky for warm weather carry.

Might have missed it. What are you looking at for a carry gun? Also what do you do for work? That will make a really big difference for a holster. A smaller frame gun I'd go with a pocket holster. As someone else said before looks like a blackberry.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I really like the Comp-Tac holsters, and how they can be used with a tucked-in shirt. My buddy that's in law enforcement has been carrying for years with a CCW prior to being a peace officer, he also recommended the Uncle Mike holsters. And he also said when you have a CCW, you'll need multiple holsters, not just one, which is a good point. He also does firearms and self defense tactics training for his department (high risk probation) so he say he'll show me a few tricks :)

I'm looking at picking up a subcompact XD, I only have a full-size one right now. I work in a typical office setting, business casual attire. I don't plan on carrying while at work. A pocket holster is a good idea too, but I think the XD may be too big for that. Would probably need a different gun for that.

Uncle Mikes are just generic nylon holsters. For pocket carry that is fine, for anything else, you want something tailored to your gun so it will be as secure as possible.

Also get something that is comfortable for you. If it isnt, you wont carry. I carry my P32 more then my G19, especially in the summer, as it gets hot. Heck I was just wading in the Gulf of Mexico, yes the Gulf, and still have my P32 in my pocket!

Another important thing that many people over look is the belt. You NEED a quality belt made for carrying a fire arm. These belts are more rigid, will not sag, and help distribute the weight of your weapon.
