shadow, its hard to say if they are of the smaller variety but i will say the are both stunners for sure.i especially like the male

Hi Raymann.Aquaman, how do these marble motoros look compared to yours at 8". These guys look great now, but wondering if they will loose their intensity / pattern when they get older. From what it sound like, around 8" is the size where they have the best markings and they either keep them or loose them as they get older. Your male at 13 years is amazing! Hope these guys look as good as yours at 13 years!

I think this is the strongest clue so far..i would agree.oh man this thread is getting PICTASTIC!!!
raymann those MM are amazing!!!
DB again your fish look great!!! that male is sick nasty
Do we know of any sure signs of what could prove to be a smaller specie??
I would say clasper development has a lot to do with what we may think to be a smaller specie. If your fish is of a smaller size yet has considerable clasper development this could be an indication of your fish possibly being a smaller variant. What do you guys think?
Ok guys then are both of these males the larger Species One is an easy 14 15 inch disc and the other maybe 11.... Your opinions are appreciated ....pic 5 is under t-5 twin tube 10,000 k daylight the other pics are under t-8 ..Pretty sure the smaller species males are usually mature by 8" as most Marbles are by 10. Seems it's the lighter hued, or "blonde" ones that take a lil longer to mature (12+)
Hey thanks so the larger looks to be heavy on straight Motoro genes ya he is big for sure ya the smaller has dots with the perimeter for sure ....The tank is 10X3X3 650 tenecor and the disc size More of a guess just eyeballen it don't really care exactly how big unless it helps on a subspecies ID and such....Looks like one is heavy on the Motoro genes..... Prolly get pretty big. The second (1st pic) has the dark perimeter ring with dots. I had a couple that looked similar, seemed stuck under a foot.
How big is the tank (wide) and how exact are the measurements?
