OK so before i throw in the ornate i make sure my Oscars are at least 7 inches And when i put in the Ornate does his size matter? meaning i can put one in that's either very small or full grown? or no less than 7 inches for the ornate too?..and THANK YOU! I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!

I doubt a full grown ornate can chomp an oscar that size.lol Usually, ornates sold are 8" and above here. Smallest is possibly 6" but the ones I've seen are shortbodied variants. The larger ones are more common so I just err on the side of caution of selecting their tankmates and their sizes.

heres a sump plan if you consider it. with oscars you need a decent bio load. now that i am getting into looking at building a sump i say to myself what was i thinking wasting money on these HOB's and canisters. you can do your own search and find others but it gives you an idea.

Just watch the oscar around the bichir... oscars can be gentle giants or freaking terrors. bichirs have been known to get pick on by aggressive cichlids occasionally
vaine111 you think you could find that link you were showing me? the one you posted doesnt work thank you!!! and i will watch the oscars and bichirs and as far as the ornate being to big for a 90 your the first person to tell me that everyone else has just said be carefull and keep an eye on them but if they do get to big would a sengal get to big also?
