Question to big tank owners...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Funny thing about big tanks is that they are actually easier to take care of for beginners. In some ways smaller tanks are for experts who have a lot of free time on their hands, LOL.

Of course the main thing to worry about with big tanks are the big cost that come with them.

I have made my way from a 30g to a 600g over 8 years.

Started with a 40

10 gal for sons turtle, 29 gal for some goldfish the wife brought home, got rid of them for firemouths. Then a 55 Mbuna, another 29 for fry, 75 for a planted loach tank, another 10 for snails and cherry shrimp, 125 for fronts and tangs(all under 3"), planning a DIY 1000+ in the basement... All in one year

Only thing is though the 1000+ may be a 2000+, deal with wife is it will be my last tank

We'll see.... :naughty:

I started with a 75 and haven't needed to upgrade yet, biggest fish is only 6 inches

my first tank was a 150gal. got it when i was 10 years old. since then i got a 160 but sold it. 100gal for my piranhas, 60gal for my lima, rtc, motoro(temp), 29gal for my lil bros oscar and my butti. sometime next year either a diy pond or diy tank will be in the works. my fish are gettin to big.

Fish bowl here too. I wond a gold fish at the carnival by throwing a ping pong ball in the bowl when I was eleven. It only held about two cups of water. Two days later my Mom bought me a 1 gallon bowl. That damn fish lived for almost 4 years in that bowl. :)

I bought a 20L from a friend with an Oscar in it in my early 20's. I soon bought him a 55 as he looked cramped in the 20. I ran that 55 for over 10 years and just purchased a 300 last month.
