never was into fish until i came home from college.... for some reason it just clicked and I'm addicted now!!!
so here's my story:
20--> 55--> 29--> 90 gallon -->????
started with an old crusty 20 gallon metal tank with two oscars that grew to about 5", figured that was waaaay to small for them and got a new 55 gallon to put the Oscars in. Well i got bored with them a week after when i saw these amazing colorful fish at the LFS --- African Cichlids. So worked out a deal and swapped my old Oscars for a few Africans. Also within that timeframe i ran across a great deal on a 29gallon tank, figured I'd use it some time... so the third member is added. About a month down the road I found out saltwater really isn't that hard, and I could do with the setup already in my house!!!
So back to the LFS with my bag of Africans and returned home with a bag of Ocean Salt!! So I got that running great with a few damsels and then quickly added some triggers and an a snowflake eel that i got for just $12!!! (the fish store was getting rid of saltwater and it was the last critter left... he was only about 6" then... Now he's about two and half feet!!) Ok, year or so later, the big fish store in town was having a yard sale and to my surprise there was a 90 gallon for only $40!!
(the catch was a busted bottom) With no previous background in fixing tanks i thought, hey how hard could it be?? A hundred buck later and high off of Silcone fumes I have a 90 gallon for my fish to move into. And thats where I stand now.
...BUT there is a possiblity of a 225gallon on the horizon. Found in the classifieds for only 75 bucks!!
and its a favorite of mine - a cracked bottom. Looks like it never ends...
