Can you recommend some bottom feeders that they won't eat?

Bichirs are already bottom feeders (most of the time) why would you need more? If you really want one you might want to look at some type of synodontis catfish.

Careful feeding will remove the need for a cleanup fish.I'd be considering top fish or mid level fish for some extra activity innthe tank-Anne

I have bunch of feeder guppies I was planning to put in with them, plus I was thinking of adding ghost shrimp. Yes I know they will probably eat them, but I thought it would also give them something to do besides hide.:)
I was also thinking of building several caves and possibly adding some driftwood (roots). Ant other suggestions?
Thank you for all the help so far.

they will eat them
caves ,driftwood great they will love them. I sugest floating plants

I was hoping they would eat the guppies and ghost shrimp. We bought the feeder guppies for my daughters g.tiles, but they either won't eat them, or are too lazy to catch them, and the guppies are breeding out of control.....As for ghost shrimp, they're fairly cheap here, usually going for .25 cents ea. And I've found out that the kids working at the local lfs don't really take the time to count...asked for 20 the last time and I think I brought home about 60!
I just thought the guppies and ghost shrimp would help cycle the tank, and give the bichirs something to do. No, don't have the bichirs yet, just getting everything ready for them.
As for floating plants, would water sprite work? And do they like heavily planted tanks?
Thanks again..........

Watersprite will be fine
