Questionable Piranha Tank-mates

Talk about hit and miss. I got 2 of my 3 yo yos left since I killed one accadently and millions of chichlids.

They ate my pleco All I found was munch trails in the alge and a single lone scale the chichlids were eating. Lasted under 24 hours.

personally I've found quite a few things that can coexist with my RBP, from plecos, to Raphael Catfish. Currently she is in a 80 gallon with a 11" Oscar, 2 6" Tinfoil Barbs, 1 6" Cigar Shark and a 12" Common pleco.....she is about 8" or so, and no major problems, there was some fighting at first but now they pretty much ignore each other....neither eat the same kind of food so there is no fighting for that....

I currently am keeping 3 red hook silver dollars and a striped raphael catfish with my 6 RBP's. Haven't had any problems so far. The silver dollars blend well with the school of piranhas, act just like they do. Also, the silver dollars tear at the shrimp and fish chunks I feed them in addition to pellets. This labels them in the piranhas mind as an equal I suppose, and conflict has yet to be seen. I don't even have many cases of fin nipping.The catfish just comes out at night and hugs the bottom, the piranhas don't even look at it. Plenty of swimming/schooling space is also a factor.

How long have you had this set up? It's always interesting to hear the time frame. Big difference between a month running and a year

Hi there, just searching for guidance... I have an 8'' rbp and 5 4'' rbp's, they are divided right now in an 185 gallon tank. Should I integrate them before they get too settled into their environment? Or wait to grow out the 4''? There hasn't been any incidence of attacking the divider, Harry the 8''rbp seems very playful around them dashing around and following them, lol. (or just wanting to eat them...) He was alone for about 9 months soooo....any advice would be appreciated.

Mixing RBPs with Rhom might not be a good idea. I had mines mixed up, but the rhom use to chase the RBPs. Later I sold the RPBs and kept my Rhom. RBPs in a soal can be a threat to your Rhom.

-Oscars are relatively cheap and grow fast, so can easily be replaced if mishaps occur.

WTF!? Arguably the most intelligent and beloved fish in the hobby, advocated for use as a snack. And Pacu? They're a shoaling fish that need tanks in excess of 200 gallons. All considerations of humane treatment are tossed out the window to accommodate these dull brutes.

Where do Piranha owners draw the line? Dolphins? Infants?

it's natural to have an attachment to any type of animal you keep as a pet. Shrimp keepers might feel the same way you feel about oscars. Goldfish owners don't feel the same way some people feel about tossing rosey reds or gold fish in their tank for feeders. Rat keepers look down upon snake owners etc etc. There's a ton of examples. Truth is, ANY fish anyone finds affordable or easily accessible can be a feeder. no need to paint piranhas owners as bad guys because you love oscars.

ps, there's a piranha owner who keeps all types of piranhas and feeds alot of them piranha fry. is he heartless too?

so.... going back to the original post "questionable tank MATES".... I'd like to have a couple cleaners... Shrimp, armoured catfish, pleco's, snails.... Whats the recommendation for this?

FYI... i only have 5-3in RBP's and some plants (Argentinian Sword... some sort of grass and another plant) in a 55gal.
