Questions about a future plywood build.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Honestly I can not exactly remember how many coatings I did. I guess at least 3, and more on the critical parts like corners. In the corners you normally want to have 2 or 3 coatings with fiberglass mats before you start coating everything.

Great! Thanks for all information! Will Probably start the build in Oct/Nov

12mm glas should be fine. The standard for glas tanks that size is also 12mm. You just need proper cross bracing.
I would not use pond amor. I have too often heard of it failing. In most cases it started to develop bubbles. I would only use aqurium safe epoxy. The best in my opinion is Bredderman.
Hello, I live in Italy and I used PondShield in the past. It is very good but it's price has gone up a lot, so I'd rather buy ia product from Germany (being eu-patriotic :-) ). Do you have experience with this product? Does acetic silicone (like dowsil 881, saratoga aquarium silicone) stick to it, like it sticks to PondShield? I asked the company but they advised me to ask the silicone brand about it. Which type did you use or would you use for a plywood-bottom aquarium: thelow viscosity or the medium viscosity version?
Thanks.
