howdy Mish_1125 i hope your pacus make it, since we're on the subject, does anyone know how big red belly pacus get, im told they dont grow was big as black bellies

First off i would never clean the filters ever unless you mean replaceing filter cartiges if you clean a filter complettley ( as in takeing it apart and scrubbing it with soap and such ) it will remove the bacteria that grow in it that are needed to keep your tank healthy

That is a NEGATIVE on cleaning the filter or anything in the tank with Soap. I do not reccomend cleaning anything with soap except with just plain water and muscle. Even with brand new or used tanks... strickly H2O.... JMO

Also (if no one covered it...) when you get the bigger tank you still have to cycle it before stocking the tank. It took me close to a month to cycle my 300gl. Def use already in use filters, decor, powerheads, gravel, sponges.... almost anything used in a running tank to help the Beneficial Bacteria grow faster.

yea, it's probably a swim bladder disorder due to water parameters.
