Wait 24hrs before testing.

You should cement the PVC. Although it seems tight, it will leak. I will guarantee it.

The siphon will remain consistent. The intake tube on the inside of the tank will stop the water level.

Do I have to take it apart to cement it?

or could I just do it around the edges where the PVC is connected and then paint over it?

I want it to look like it is one big piece... hell, I even painted my check valve to match the rest of the overflow =)

I would take it apart and cement it. It never hurts to do it right the first time.

true... but IDK if I can take it apart... I have it in the GOOD lol

Ummm sure, but not sure which question though
If I was you I would just Diy Pvc the over flow at least an inch to 1.5
For the pump a Quite one 3000 pushes about 700 gph less the head you should be fine ( pump goes for bout 45$)
Hose size is whatever the pump out put Is probably 3/4''
Filter socks bioballs and there you go

But if this was really me I would just put 2 Ac 110's on and never worry about filtration again
