The tail tip on p14 turns up at the tip
Leo tail is a paddle

Pure blood p14 the tail is a paddle but the tip turns up it shows more in females I will get a pic for you latter

Some P14 have the "hook-tail" others dont. This has alredy been proven by Andreas ochs.

Paddle tail and leopoldies is also BS... Many BD have longer thinner tails not much diffrent from that of a motoro.

It all depends on where the fish was caught.

Someone pointed out a long time ago the so called p14 galaxy royal or what ever you want to call them with lots more spots than normal are In fact hybrids that have been mixed with other black rays on the sly to give them larger and more spots
This would explain why some have the tail and some don't

ALL of my p14 have had this type of tail and all were bred from pure blood wild stock

You say it all depends on where the ray was caught but p14 all come from one single location

Why should all pure blood p14 be normal looking?
Just like p13 have low, medium And high grade looking ones, can the same not apply to p14?

Or are these royal galaxy just p14 mixed with other blackies somewhere down the line (done on the sly)?

A PURE P14 pup bred by Stefan in Germany. I will call this a Royal Galaxy. What do you think?
Only if Stefan see this, please post a pics of the tail. Regards kia.rg2.jpg

All the what ever name you want to call them super spot p14 are from captive breeding none of them are wild caught as p14 have been banned from export for many many years

When wild caught p14 were being exported you never saw the mass amount of spotting you now see on the flash named galaxy royal super spot p14
If its just a case of selective breeding then were do the super spots come from in the first place As I never saw any wild caught with that grade of spotting

Some say p14 seam to get better and better each time with each generation of captive breeding this I'm unsure of as I'm only up to gen 3 now
The super spots may have increased with generation because the p14 gene pool is smaller than others who knows

I would expect a p14 to have the flag tail and a Leo to have the paddle

A very very long time ago frank and nico questioned some of the super spot p14 because of the length and shape of the tail many Stefan will remember that also if he reads this

That is complete and utter bull crap. P14 are caught all over rio tapajos. Some have even found a spot where the fish are extra good.

Like these:

Andreas ochs compared the tail shape of his fish to those of stefanW (I think it was his fish). Both were the so called royal galaxy quality. One had a hook tail, the other dident. Both are pure bred P14´s.

Anders : super stunning rays also. Definitely a higher grade and look far better than standard looking ones (which still look great to me) its just Roy al galaxy are that much better imo.
I remember looking on frank/nico website, and they referred to some p14 as bigspot p14,
I wonder if they think RG should be used as a grading name of p14??
