i went to my pet store and found a 10.3 oz tube of this stuff it wus the last tube they had:irked:

so im wondering if this tube will be enough just to to glue the paynes of glass together not do the inside seams just use it to put the tank together? and ill use a GE brand to do the inside seams and bracing do you think this 1 tube will be enough to put the glass together if the tank is 6 1/2 ft long x 2 ft wide x 1 1/2 ft tall? do u think this tube will be able to do 2 6 1/2 ft long beads + the side panel beads???? also how big would the bead have to be?

i would set the beads like this would 1 tube be able to bead a 78x24x18? like this pic

Also when the tank is all together and its time to seal the inside seams should i use GE I windows and doors or The GE II Windows and doors(without bioseal of course cuz my store sells it without the bioseal) wich is a little stronger wich would be better (I has low shrinkage and II has no shrinkage)

Also how many tubes of GE do u think it would take to just seal the inside seams of the tank not the braces, only the inside seams the corners etc ? someone said they used 3 tubes of GE I to reseal and fix a crack in there 240 240 is alot bigger then mine seems like it would only take me 1 or 2 to seal the inside

It will definitely take you more than a tube. Just buy a couple more to make sure you don't run out... GE I is like 3$ a tube, you can't beat peace of mind ;)

On my 6' tank the silicone between the glass is about 1/8", hope this helps!

how will i deff take me more then 1 tube to do 4 beads like this pic Note: this is only for the beads so i can get the Vertical glass up and attatched to the bottom peice of glass. NOT SILICONING INSIDE SEAMS

1 tube of 10.1 oz at 3/16 bead will do 50 linear feet thats wut it says on the back of the tube of the GE I thats like taking a 50 ft long peice of glass and running 1 straight 3/16 bead all the way down it, that would take one tube to do that , for my tank bead im gonna run the bead like how it looks in the pic i posted above and with my tank dimensions that = out to 23ft of 3/16 bead to be used out of 50ft of silicone in a tube give and take a few blobs prolly 30ft out of 50 used all together

plus lol the all glass aquarium silicone is 10.3 oz so that gives me .2 more oz of silicone haha :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: so all in all ill be able to do my tank with a 3/16 bead and have about 20 ft of 3/16 bead left in the tube:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 which is good cuz i dont wanna pay 10$ for another tube which i couldnt if i wanted to cuz i got there 1 and only tube that was left and i dont wanna wait for the new shipment so ill join the paynes with a 3/16 bead using the ALL-GLASS AQUARIUM stuff and then do the inside seams with GE I windows and doors does that sound good?

also since the dr. is here ig ot a question about when i apply silicone to the glass and i have to press it to the other paynes how hard do u push the glass in?? just enough for the silicone to squeeze out? or does the glass touch eachother or do i leave a space in between the glass that the silicone beads fill ?

About 1/8" between the pieces like posted above.

Looks like you have your mind made up, lets see the pix Saturday afternoon, and you can share your experiences.

also will it be ok to do the inside seams with GE I or do you think GE II (w/o bioseal ofcourse) will be better?
