would a 4" armatus be okay in a 40 breeder for a little while, or should I put it in a 75? It will be all by itself. I've been wanting an armatus for quite a while, but one came up that I didn't plan on, so I had to get i, so I'm just trying to figure out where to put it. Will a AquaClear 70 powerhead be okay to use in the 40 for it?

thanks. I have it in there right now, but haven't gotten the powerhead in yet cuz I had to leave. I'll try for some pix when it settles. i think I might put some posterboard up on the sides to try and help it be less skittish. I just randomly threw in some plants for that reason, too. Tank's about 84 degrees and there are two good-sized sponge filters for bio and an AC70 filter for mechanical.

Its not the best but if you have to, then just keep up on water changes. The 70gl would be best tho.

As for skittish, he will settle in just let him do his thing:D

Nice pick up big dogg... I am so tempted to get my boy back with some bros/sistas:naughty:

Also try to get some air in there... maybe have the filter over water level to splash the water and create air bubbles

i will do some moving around when i can and get it in the 75. Definitely will have it out by the time it hits 6".

i'm sure he will :D

thanks. def should :naughty:

You don't think the 2 sponge filters will be enough oxygen? I'll put the air tube on the powerhead and the HOB is an inch or two above the water.

Thanks, Wes. I'm so glad to have a payara again :D

i'll try tomorrow.

good news...threw 4 feeders in tonight and they were gone when I came back down. Tyler had held it for me for a couple days and it only ate 1 rosie and it was a bit skittish and I hadn't given it any feeders since I got it, so I was a little concerned. As soon as a free a tank up, I'm probably going to move the fish out of the 125 so the bass in the 75 can go in there and the arm can go in the 75.

what would be a good fish to put in with it to get it used to being with other fish? I'm going to wait til it's in the 75 and settles down before I do that, though.

Awsome Paul. I'm glad that he's eating. When you move it to the 75, how about adding some non-aggressive fish that are too big for him to eat, like Silver Dollars or something? I'm sure someone will come up with a better suggestion as I have no experience with Armatus. Good luck with this monster!

thanks, Tyler. I've been thinking about getting a few tinfoils again, so I may get some real small ones (or maybe grow out some filament barbs or congo tetras) but I'm not too sure about putting silver fish in with it.

Too bad I can't put the manueli at Fish Palace in with it, LOL

I'm so afraid to put the AC70 PH in there, lol. I've lost too many fish to powerheads.

finally got around to taking a pic, but it's terrible.
