Ok so I went to get minnows out of my canal and I saw a jaguar cichlid which seemed to be not a hundred percent cause of the cold weather, so I took him and have him n a bucket that I have a drip line from my 55 going into the bucket to gradually fill it with warmer water. Can you guys offer me any advice on how to keep him alive, I dont have any jags and would love to save him

Jags are strong fish, once he acclimates to the warmer temps, you shouldn't have any problems, just give him the once over for wounds and keep an eye out for fungus or infections. How big is he?

any pics?

also as said just take it slow, theres nothing special you can do i can think of

hes about 2 to 3 inches

I have a picture but its not letting me put it up, I think he will be alright, Ill try to tpost pics tomorrow, thanks for the help

You found a Jaguar in a canal by your house?? Good lord. Someone didn't keep the poor guy long before they dumped him, did they? Good save!

not necessarily a dump job . . . several species of cichlids have found themselves a home in south Florida, including Jags, Oscars, Mayans and Black Acara (among others) . . .

Royal Palm is a little bit north for Jaguars, but my guess is his fish - - who looks great, by the way - - is "local"
