Quick, I just rescued a jaguar cichlid

thats a pretty crazy situation to find a jag in a canal haha, but ya, ive always noticed that the parachromis are pretty resilient so im sure he'll survive now that u have him. good luck with him and keep us posted
 
Thanks guys, yea theyre known to be in the canal but theyre pretty rare. I have two mayan cihclids that I got from the canal, they are cool fish as well in my opinion. Oscars are around here too but i have not yet found one tank size (I dont want to start with a large one), i catch large ones quite a bit in the everglades but I dont know how theyre taking this cold. Heres a pic of an oscar I caught in the glades

i dnt really like the wild oscars they have no color
 
yea there are a lot of cool fish here, its the reason i keep fish, and the oscars vary in color but most the fish in the everglades are dark because of the darker water which is why the oscar didnt have much color
