quick question bout tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the truth dont hurt. i asked for help tank wise, he went off to "im not ready"...

a 150gal tank is more then big enough for retics, they wont ever reach the width of the tank.

if a 10 is to small, jus say dont do it. she's so damn small i thought maybe it would work for a few weeks. maybe not. if i buy 4 more rays they would be big enough to put in my 150 so they wont get eaten. then over time as they grow i will sell 2 of them to get my money back for all 4. and by the middle of 07 i will have my 240 or bigger tank. im savin as we speak.

Ethnics, stop lying, ur an idiot.. 10 gallon tank for a ray? i cant believe u even asked... why not just put the ray in the 5 gallon toilet bowl while ur at it? why dont u pay more attention to ethical ideas, more than ethnical ones dip$hit... u disgust me..:banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :screwy: :screwy:  :screwy: :screwy: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :irked: :irked: :irked: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :screwy:  :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim: :banhim:

read his other post below this one it will sicken you, he aready lost a ray and didn't even test the water! i get sick even thinking about it!! yea, i 2nd the banning motion, let him talk in the goldfish forums!!!!

How do you actually take your aquariums serious? Stop murdering the fish man, and realize you needa graduate from goldfish before u can keep rays... Hang up the hobby.. its not cut out for everyone..

i have more experience in fish keeping then you im sure of it. im new to rays and everyone treats me like a kindergardener

Man just cuz you had a betta you got at a wedding for a few years doesnt qualify you as a educated fishkeeper... i understand your new to rays, but im only criticizing you to drive home the point.. DO NO PUT A RAY IN A TANK SMALLER THEN ATLEAST A 75 G....unless ur name is LFS

And if your so experienced in other species, go back to them and breed em...

i have a 3 tanks over 100gal and 1 tank thats 316gal. over 10years of experience with species from gold fish to gars n aros'. why u pushin so hard on gettin me away from rays. i have 2 tanks nover 100gal to put her in i jus dont wanna do it til shes a bit bigger because of whats in them. so back off. it was jus a question. i know the recommended size minimum is 75-100 gal but i jus asked a simple question for a temp tank.

Alright, I am not here to bash you on the idea of keeping the ray in a 10 gallon but to let you know WHY it is not a good idea.

Rays are very tempermental when it comes to water quailty. The volume of water in the 10 gallon is too little. The reason the pet stores can keep them in that or close to same size container is because they have a really HUGE sump they are running with the rest of the tanks on there too. Plus they are not too concerned about loosing a ray or two. The smaller the water volume the greater the chance for huge swings in Ph, Nitrates, ect. Ideally you should get the rubbermaid container and use that suggestion.

One thing nobody asked here is how wide is your 150?

Ray keepers are very sensitive just like the rays themselfs. Just try to understand that they are wanting the best for one of the most elegant creatures ever to grace this hobby.
