My new 240g was built last saturday {april 18th}.....it's been 6 days how long would you suggest I wait till I put water in it? Think 6 is enough?

I'm pretty sure that glasscages recommends four or six weeks, I can't remember for sure. I wouldn't get in to big of a hurry though.
really? 4 to 6 weeks seems way excessive no? the silicone should be fully curred after a few days, but most tank manufacturers recommend a week to be safe..

I didn't get it from glasscages but I do hear for their tanks they say 21 days...but i wonder if that's just their thing or a general rule..?
part of that may be that from what I have read (can't verify) they supposedly ship tanks not fully cured, which may explain the extra weight time.
however the people claiming they shipped tanks not cured properly were pretty pissed off at them..so...its hard to say. could be BS.

I threw the papers away that came with mine otherwise I would tell you exactly what it said. Mine was built long enough before I received it that the necessary time was long passed.
All I know is it's like having a new toy looking at you that you can't play with....guess now I know what time out feels like to my 3 year old. lol.
It does suck but it is certainly worth it in the long run. I can't think of too many things (within reason) that would suck worse than having a leaky tank due to impatience. Even though mine was ready for water when I received it I still didn't have it ready for water for about three or four weeks. The wait was miserable, fun, but miserable.
