Also try taking out the gravel or sand from the tank. I kept mine on glass bottom for a wile, he seem to find the feeders faster.
Stop beating around the bush, give him guppys or small minnows. I've never had a problem with live feeders. Yeah don't do it if you can clearly see they have problems like ich. But every person I have talk to have given their tig feeders intill they are big enough to eat shrimp. And most likely the people that say theirs eats frozen foods or pellets have waited to the point were their tigs on the edge of death were they would even eat their own s**t if it was laying around. Those that say other wise and are going to give me hate mail, you know it. My tigs grown over 3 in he's since I've had him at 3 inches and is thick and healthy.
I don't just dump all of them in at once when I bring them home from the store. I keep mine for weeksbefore feeding them to him. Plus I would only have enough for him to eat at a time. Keeping alot in at once won't teach him what's food and what's friend, mine would burst if I just let him go to town on them.I agree that feeders may be a good idea as a last resort or perhaps to fatten him up a bit. The part where I don't agree is that it's not about how fast your fish has grown, it's about how healthy he will be eating dirty feeders. Unless you have your own supply of clean feeders, I would avoid them at all costs
