Anyone who uses theses pumps have any positive feedbacks or negative ones about these pumps? Been thinking about running a quite one 3000 for my wet/dry. Its on sale on Drsfostersmith's.
Most of the smaller models and some of the larger models are energy efficient compared to other pumps. However, it is wise to check the pump curves vs. energy consumption prior to accepting this for any particular model.
I've got a Quiet One 6000 that I run submerged in my wet/dry. I love it and have no complaints at all. It's not loud like some others have said. I'd buy another if I needed one.
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76268 I went through like 3 or 4 (can't remember now) and never got a good one. They were all either noisy or the motor stopped within a couple months. I am now running a pondmaster. It is going strong and is completely silent.
3000 and 4000, I would recommend them...
If it is noisy, it has air in it, and it will wear out pre-maturely. They have ceramic on ceramic bushings, so they need to be totally wet inside.
Just be careful when you do maintenance on the impeller. Be sure to pull the impeller cover straight out or you'll snap the ceramic shaft in two...no big deal just be aware...
