I just bought a 4000 last week and put it in my sump it not that bad only a low hum. great flow, energy efficent and cheap cant really ask for much more.

I have a 6000 submersed in my 180, doing good so far after a couple of months. Maybe I should take it out and clean the insides for precautions. Its in the water so I never hear it.
