R.I.P Cookie Bear......

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. The thing we need to remember when we lose a pet is that we gave them the best life we were able to give (i feel confident that this applies to most, if not all, MFK'ers!).

Great Pyrenees are wonderful dogs. My Mom has bred and rescued Pyrs for close to thirty years. One of their best features is their incredibly gentle nature. My Mom's dogs regularly sleep with the cats, often with the cat on top of the dog! As a teenager I took Toby (a big male Pyr) to a friend's house and tied him up in the back yard with my friend's hyperactive lab mix puppy. When I came out Toby's lips and mouth were all bloody! Toby was sitting there with his head stretched as far up in the air as possible. As I watched the puppy jumped up and bit Toby's lips with his sharp little puppy teeth! Toby could have easily defended himself from this relentless attack, but chose to just sit there and take it.

Again, I'm really sorry for your loss, but 12 years with a loving family is as much as Cookie Bear could hope for! :)
