If you're in a city call animal control and see if they'll trap them for you. If they say no tell them they are going after the neighbor pets and you fear for you/your wife/your kids safety then start crying. If they still say no tell them you (and your lawyer) will hold them responsible when someone gets hurt by the viscious varmits.

My nighbor had her Goldfish eatten and thrown out of her pond expect the two that where in the deepest point in the pond.

I think when I build a pond of my own I'm going to put it inside a large screened in box or something like that to keep all them citters out.

rig your shotgun up with a trip wire tied to the trigger and staked out in front of the barrell. anything trips the wire and boom. just make sure raccoons will be the only thing in range of gun. i've seen similar traps like this online for fairly chep. Not too humane but i'm pretty heartless when it come s to raccoons ... I'm gonna go get drunk and play with shotguns now-...

Fishtex, to understand why you had written the above, I had googled on guns in Forthood, Texas. I found and watched this video:

After watching the above, now I understand. You need shotguns... more than just for coons, but also for Fort-invaders. I guess Forthood guys do things differently than Amish guys because of differences in gun cultures.

I need a quick and CHEAP way to get rid of raccoons on my property.

I had a family that wipped out my pond stock about a week ago. Since then I pulled all my outdoor stock, one brown 'goldfish' and a handfull of small trapdoor snails. BUT the pond is still in the yard, now without filtration.

Yesterday, there were more wet prints and the vegetation in the pond was disturbed...They have also terrorized our outdoor cats.

I really don;t have the cash for a trap, but I don't want these rodents messing with my stuff when everyone goes to bed. Short of spending the night outside with a 22, what other deterants could I set up? Any smells or automatic deterrents that work? I know there is at least one family in the back yard as they were confronted once, moma and 4 kids, moma left when hit with a rock, the kids left when blasted with a supersoaker!

Racersk, I get guns in my home... against home-invaders such as this one:
Trial for Home-invaders who murdered Dr. Petit's wife and 2 daughters

but I rather not use guns on coons. I have used T-bones to lure coons into traps. I caught them and relocated them far away. There are always options... I choose the less risky one ;).

This racoon is caught before it catches my koi.

Racersk, send that thing to a taxidermist and mount the head on a stick to warn all raccoons what happens if they mess with your pond...lmao(just joking, thats cool you let him go!)
