Rage quitting monsters...Should I do it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Should have gave away your fish to MFK members now those fish will rot in the LFS and likely go to some fool who doesn't know how to care for them. Also you need to think about why you are in the hobby in the first place. If it is all about showtanks and status you will grow quickly bored and "rage quit" like you have done.

If you guys are not 6,000-12,000 miles away, I'd give my fish to each and every one of you. Choose as you please. I am in China on a 2 year work contract. I am going on a very long vacation this month, 32 days roughly. So far, LFS here would likely replace your fish for free with other fish but will not rent out a space for you. The home wiring is going haywire and the landlord would not fix it. I cannot risk leaving all of them without power for long. So far the people whose fish I have taken care of a few months ago have backed out taking care of my fish and said they will go home as well. So much for gratitude. I have only found a few people who will do it but without background in keeping fish. I think you know the horrors? Overfeeding, draining your entire tank, overflowing your tanks, all those ring a bell? I chose the least of all evils and chose what will be good for them. The GG and the silver are the largest and easiest to feed so they will likely survive if someone can change the water once every two weeks and feed them once every week. Actually I am quite disappointed after I have fixed everything in the tank and made WC's and feeding so easy only for those that I arranged with keeping my fish backed out. I have added plants to prepare for this just to help with water quality while I am away. I have placed heaters and wave makers in safe water levels just to avoid the caretaker to damage this when doing WC or due to water evaporation. I have added timers to almost everything, backed up all equipment. Secured all pipes and wires not to be dislodged. Plus the temperature here can drop to 3-4C here. As you can see I have stated that I will get the other fish after I return from my vacation. The smaller fish and angelfish will be okay with an autofeeder which can easily be refilled by anyone. This is the whole story why the tank turned out that way. I am still ill for giving fish that I have taken care for so long but they will certainly live than die horribly while I am away.
