im starting a rainbow trout experiment well lets just say i have already set up the tank a month before doing this with rock from the local river to get the biological procces and cycling complete
i have check the peramaters and done tons of research......
.......my water is about 16c so its cold.... iknow they prefer about 13c but 17 will work
ive seen this done before
i realize i will need a bigger tank ....that is a no brainer (i know they get big.......flame me if you wish but it will fall upon def ears)
i will be putting them into a large pond later next year when they are abou 8-10"long current ly thry are in a 55 witch is 4 feet long and i have plent of tanks to spare.......
so ive had them in for two weeks to make sure they were going to live before i started this thread.....i also know that 2 weeks isnt a great success...but as this thread progresses you will see that i can make it work
the fish that i have rescued(yes i rescued them out of a puddle about 250 feet from the river they had gotten trapped there and would have died in the month to come.....so please dont flame me about that either it will also fall upon def ears
please enjoy the thread and the fishes progression
so they are feeding on blood worm brine shrimp and cichlid sinking pellets aswell as cichlid flakes....so no problem there
the actually get real excited when i come in my room
next year i am going to do a pike experiment
these experiment will alow me to teach friends and visitors about these great fish that we all enjoy
