so in all my yrs of cutting grass i have never run over a toad or garter snake. ive always spotted them before and moved them to where i wasnt cutting the grass. been a couple that i looked at and thought man i must have run over it but they were fine. well today i was cutting the grass and i ran over a little fellow with the blades. looks like i cut off one of its toes on the rear leg and that leg might be messed up. i'll have to keep him and keep ya'll updated.

on a side note, do you guys ever take any guilty pleasure when cutting the grass? mine is that with the riding mower i like to run over ant houses. lol i stop the mower on top and let it sit there with the blades going for a couple minutes.

yeah... definately :grinno:. haha. what ever you say.

well yesterday the little guy died. i thought he had a chance. when i went to bed he was alret and seemed to be ok. damn man made machines!

lol we live near a swamp so i run over frogs all the time... not in mass amounts... but like 1 every 2-3 times i mow the lawn...

mad, why have you never touched a toad? you wont get warts, thats an old wives tale!

poor little fella......at least u tried to save him.we have lots of toads that mate in our ponds every year.we always have millions of tadpole but i've only seen 2 babies come out of there.weird.........

thanks, i thought for sure he would pull through since he didnt look to bad! check out the window wells around your house. im sure you'll find some in there!

like your basement windows... usually they are lower then ground level. 2-3 feet deep surrounded by a metal guard. death traps to a lot of animals. good places to go herping. toads are pretty good at climbing so i think they are able to get out. lots of bugs in them so good places for toads to get food too.
