panagiolin- there like mammles wid scales they r like armidillos...sorta

never mind read into it a bit..too mutch hassle:nilly:

armadillo's are cool. Other idea's are large south amarican rodents like paca's. Large fruitbats and this animal, Pedetes capensis, dont know the english name, but they are nice african rodents.

Pacas are very cool, I've looked up on them a bit.

But I'm pretty sure I'm getting a nine banded 'dillo. I've been thinking about breeding them, might be something to do later on. I think it would be a fun thing to do.

I'm not sure if fruitbats are legal to own privately, last I heard they werent, or I may have misread. I'll have to check.

I may not use PVC, I dont know. And it wont be sealed inside the PVC, I'm going to use PVC as tunnels that connect ot rubbermaid containers under the substrate.

And I'm not going to be getting the 'dillo for another 4 years, so I have plenty of time to make some blueprints for a nice enclosure. I plan to have a really nice water feature for him to bathe/drink from as from what I've read they like to occasionally bathe.

Pedetes Capensis are really neat looking, I'm definately going to try and find some good reading material on captive care.

When I do infact get a 'dillo in four years, I will post alot of pics.

I still need to get some more pictures of my Macaw, He's lost alot of his gray pin feathers and has only about 5 left, and is getting his adult coloration in.

armadillo sounds kindof cool except i know nothing about keeping them let us know how the decision making process goes

Well, I was talking to a guy that runs an exotic animal program, and he has a few 'dillos, I asked him a few questions, and we talked a few times, but then he just stopped writing to me one day, so I never got the information needed to keep armadillos. So I've decided to get a fennec fox. :)

I wanted a fennec for a very long time, theyre what got me into exotics, along with coatimundis, and I had read quite alot about them, so thats what I decided to go with. I wont be getting the Fennec for aboout 4-5 years, so in thst time I will research even more if thats possible.

I considered getting a coatimundi, but they are a very demanding animal, up with Monkeys and apes, etc as they are very smart, and I just dont think it would be the right pet for me, althought I would love to have one, it's just not a great "Pet"

Fennec?! HOW CUTE!!! xD Hands down my favorite mammal! Even a big *ahem* manly man such as myself wouldnt be embarrassed cuddling a cutesy widdle fennec! :D

Haha coatis are crazy things, racoons on steroids.

I knew a girl who had an arctic fox, that little bugger was cute, even though it had a particularly nasty temper on occasion.

Fennecs are very cute!! Good Luck with your research!!

your making me want to get an armadillo. dont worry i wont steal the idea. that sounds so awesome tho, im picturing it running around the whole house in tubes like a hampster with different stops along the way.
