Random pics from this afternoon.....

The 72 is in the living room and the rest are crammed in the basement, Alex. I'm going to need 8 footers for those asians in the next year, so the 5 and 6 footers will be gone except for the 180, which will eventually house the melanurum.

wow, that'll be awesome. how big are the aros now? the 5' and 6' tanks look(from the images anyway) big enough to hold the aros for a good amount of time still.

Aros are about a foot long. They are good for awhile, but I'm thinking I'll need the 8 footers within a year. Once they hit 16-17", they start to get pretty jumpy in 6 foot tanks.

4x digital zoom!!! No wonder you get such good shots. Must be nice to own that pro setup.

Thanks. It is, it is. ;)

NIce pics.
Was wondering what camera are you using? Lense? and do you use flash or you rely on the aquarium lighting?

Very nice and sharp/crisp! I wish i could take as good pics, motion is always my nemesis!

Great awesome pics!

Thanks! I shoot with a Nikon D700. I relied on tank lighting for full tank shots (except for the 72 gallon bowfront) and I use multiple wireless flashes above the tank for everything else.

Tank shots were taken with the Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8 G ED

Shots of the cories and melanurum were taken with (get this, joecoulson ;)) a Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II hooked up to a AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III

Shots of the red aro and the cigar shark were taken with a nikon 105mm f/2.8 AD

Time to get some up to date gear Gerry. Sheesh. I really want to switch to the FF but will take a bath on trading in my aps gear. Can't bring myself to do it while money is not flowing.

I hear ya. I'll probably sell my gear off for a couple of hundred bucks and invest in something better. ;)
