Please tell me if I am crazy or not...lol

Heres the scenario. You are going to a regular old mom and pop restaurant and sit down to order and eat. The countertop table typically is already placed with a knife, fork, spoon, on top of a napkin. You then order a salad. Once the food arrives you go to grab your utensils and napkin. Do you...

A. Put your other utensils on the table top and start eating.
B. Put you other utensils against your other serving plate.

The point of my question is that I typically do answer B and have been called crazy for it. My reasoning is strictly from a hygienic point of view. Its my opinion that most counter tops get wiped down with dirty rags!

What do you do and why? Please also state if you have ever worked in the food industry or not and if you think im nutz...lol

The dry ground might be even cleaner than a dirty moist used rag! There have also been cases of salmonella being transmitted via dirty restaurant rag!

Dude....live a little.

I usually take the napkin, put it in my lap, then rest all of the utensils against the plate I am using. And if I dont have enough room to lean them against the plate, I choose which pieces will be most vital. Then I place the less vital ones on a napkin.
