Technically...those rags should be in some sort of sanitation solution and checked and/or changed every 2-4 hours. I usually have my utensils on the napkin until my food arrives and pick up whatever I need to use. Then I usually use the napkin when I'm done. That way, if I have to use my napkin before I finish my food, I'll place my utensils on my plate, but the ones I don't use, I don't really care if they touch the table top or not. Sometimes, I think sanitation is overrated...I know that might gross people out to say that, considering I work with food, but that's just me personally. And whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I have to admit that I feel like I have a stronger stomach than most people I know who worry about that kind of stuff all the time. I just want to eat, LOL.

just out of habit i'd place any utensils i was using on a napkin before eating, i do it without thinking - probably cleaner that way. i also have a habit of picking it up to look for stains or anything on the utensils LOL a bit extreme, i know.

Not extreme at all IMO. :)

Benz, what do you do?

What about the napkins? I'm fairly certain they aren't made in extremely sanitary conditions....Plus the napkin is only as clean as the hand that carried it to the table. What if it was dropped?

I would never let my utensils touch a bare tabletop but I'm also extremely OCD and borderline germaphobe.

No more crazy than the next guy lol

At times i'll ask for more napkins. I've been known to wipe my silverware with a napkin before i let it touch the food. I'm what you call a napkin hog, the more the merrier.

I may start doing what my girl does....she carries a bamboo fork, knife, and spoon with her everywhere. I think it is something to do with not wasting plastic forks, or something like that...
