Advantages of this setup:
Relaxing red look/theme
A very healthy variety of bacteria
Lots of surface area for bacteria to grow on
Heavy filtration with screens to properly disperse flow and UV
Backup/constant filtration from the internal cartridges
A good amount of hiding places, between spider wood and slate rocks
A substantial amount of aeration.
Beautiful red fish.

Advantages of this setup:
A very natural look
A nice green theme
A good amount of dark hiding places for the fish
Good amount of aeration
Good amount of water flow
Natural simulation of a small amazon stream

Disadvantages:
Complexity
Specific conditions, not good as a backup tank
Potential dirt build up because of the green cabomba
A natural system that is quite different than a pond, making the aquarium harder to maintain in its own way.
