While they will survive in tropical climate, it is likely this would shortrn their life span. They come from the Yangtze river which is in China (not a tropical climate)

i have only seen one and i was tempted to get it, but then i saw what they get like when they get larger as Brian said. pretty cool fish, nonetheless

Could be a cool fish for a koi pond, would love to raise one to full size.

whether true not...china already placed it as endangered spesies...banned & disallow trade or export...
nowonder hardly see in malaysia...

hm...they still can be seen pop up here in indonesia...albeit it's not a common fish...
