Typical convict.

Tank makes it worth it.

But fact is you've been conned with the convict.

agreed... royal marbled is just bs that people are raising their hackles about... basically what it probably has is the following:

call it marbled or whatever... so be it. but that strain has been around for years. definitely wasn't worth mentioning ;) esp with that 'royal' bs... we would probably have been more impressed if the thread was called "55 gallon tank for only $25! and a free convict cichlid with sale!"

hahah no doubt a 55 he did say, he didnt say free or comes with he said he was also getting a 55 , a dude selling $25 buck cons isnt giving away no 55 g

$25 is cheap to find out your boy is a d bag

So you spent $25 for a phenotypically normal convict. If the marble royal gene is I assume just what's known as marble or calico convict. Also if it has the gene like you say, it is a recessive gene. unless you are breeding her to another "royal marble" the extra money you spent on her was pointless because the gene means nothing sibce it can't be expressed.

Actually, it can. XD

If he breeds the convict with another convict, and then breed the F1 of those convicts, then there's potential for the F2 generation to have ones that express the gene. XD

I personally wouldn't be bothered tho.

Man that is awesome hybrid dude looks nothing like a convict. I see some jack dempsey in him. Totally worth 25.....

Hello, I just purchased A pretty rare fish!
I had wanted a convict to go with my jewels. So, I got one! But I got a pretty rare mutation!
It is a Female "Royal Marbled" Convict! She was only $25!
After acclimation for 2 hours wet drip AND Floating (so they could see each other and get used to each other) She was getting nipped a bit by my larger male Jewel. Now I have her in a grow-out tank.
