around 12" the pattern starts forming but in a very slow pace, perhaps a dark tank might help.

SR and Tong yan sometimes develop these pattern on the gill plate, but those are from cross breeding. I've once kept a YellowTail with similar cheek pattern.

hi, mind if i joined chat bro...:)

SR or others asian arowana with snake skin pattern are not from cross breeding. I ever saw indonesian super red with snakeskin covered all its body, oso gill plates, just like that green. not only one, but not many:D.

bro skareb, have we met before in others forum..your beautiful yellow tail seems so familiar to me;)

I've seen one SR with snakeskin pattern, and I assume they;re from crossbreeding coz the typical one to have these are tongyan. But the pattern are very vague as compared to nami and the myanmar arowana.

I go by the handle "moorish" on other forum;)

aint this the green snakeskin variety?

So far from what we know there're only 2 snakeskin, one is from Nami Malaysia hence they call it Nami green, and this recent species from Myanmar.

The Myanmar Snakeskin pattern is more refine, more vivid and scales shine covering the 6th level. The color cast more gold tint as compared. Juvi myanmar will show a more golden shine on the gill looking like a HB.

The edge of the 3 unpaired fin will have a yellow cast.

A very interesting Aro. Not a beauty, but its rarity makes it very very interesting

whether its photo shop or not, i love it..
