LOL, not dyed. It's a rare variant of silver dollar. The body shape and fins are also different, notice how short the fins are and they are transparent NOT red.

Not all dye jobs are the same.

The 'bleeding heart' pattern could be achieved using the same 'tattoo' method that is used to make 'polka-dot GG's', which would mean, clear fins.

I hope it's not dyed, I've never heard of this variant of SD.

NOT dyed, but thanks for the compliment :D. Seen some Asian pics with these mixed in with blackbar/red hook/SD shoals.... John at ECZS brought in some of these a little while back, only seen them for sale a couple times before that and haven't seen them at all since.

lovely, rare fish.

Ditto, Cohazard.:) I've never seen that 'strain' before despite having seen almost all metynnis and myleus.:nilly:

Hope this is cool, mods please remove if this is a problem: STILL a dye job?
EDIT: guess it's not cool, lol. Guys, do a quick search on the "other" site, you'll see what I mean. I don't know why people think this is a dyed fish....there's a reason many of you have not seen this before.

they look nice :naughty: :D

I agree with Cook I don't believe these are dyed. I saw when ECZS brought them in a few months ago. Nobody mentioned anything about them being dyed. Only that they were very rarely seen. Sweet pick up man.
