Yes, but you don't have to keep a wood stove stoked 24/7. . And you could be wakeboarding/wake surfing with 80 degree weather....guess the grass is always greener elsewhere.
Extreme NW corner of CA just out of Crescent City. No dragstrips, no malls, just the occasional bear raiding garbage cans and strewing garbage everywhere, and raccoons stealing catfood....our outside cat passed away, so we don't even bother trapping the coons anymore.
Downside of country living: power out all day, 10"+ rain predicted this week. River is rising. If it rises to flood stage, we'll probably get a warning notice not to use the water.....gotta take the good with the bad.
Funny how people will say they wish they could live in places like this then when they get there and experience the outdoors in the raw and the giant man eating mosquitoes , they flee back to the city. It takes a certain kind of person to live in those areas, the isolation will get to most people who are use to the city.
Its windy as hekk here! Still no snow yet. Sure hope we get some. Havent even strapped a snowboard on my feet yet and its almost february..id have o good 40-50 days in by now. The resorts are hurting for snow and im sure the snow plow drivers are hurtin even more. Comon mother nature....hook us up with some of the white stuff
