We have those "Giant Corys" here too. They sell for about $10 a piece at about 4 inches. When I get a larger tank I will definitely be considering picking up a school of those.
Caquetaia myersi like the one in my avater. If only I could get myself on a group of these. Probably the only fish I would be willing to pay a bunch of money for. I know rapps gets them every blue moon so I'll be here waiting for that.
i have never seen any N. beani offered for sale from Rapps or i would have bought them. no doubt in my mind. as soon as they are available ill get me some
I had a blue-eyed cory some years ago I picked up at a chain store and later gave away, I bought it as one in a group of common plecos and had no idea that it was rare. For big corys I like the C. barbatus that gets as big as the brochis, I have only seen them for sale once.
I've got semiaquilas at the shop. a nice addition for the keeper. oddly enough I would say some of the more common fish are less easy to find in the wild they are domesticated. endlers being one of them. Even when they are imported they are usually captive bred. I don't see many leptodoras out there. I had some L Copei for a while but they were neglected
