Rarest/hardest to find bichir in the u.s.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So are like F2 tuegs really easy to come by? Im not sure if mine are F1 or F2 but i managed to get 6 of them so im pretty happy about it. They are still young though, can you guys tell from these photos?

In my area they are pretty easy to get. I only have to make a call to an LFS and they can get one in pretty quickly from segrest farms.

Hmm what the heck is all i can say... I live in florida and everytime i ask my LFS if they can get in bichirs from segrest they say there is only like senegalus and endlicheri available. I had to order from fishonlinerus and hes like in illinois.

Your LFS is lying to you. Segrest has endlis, lapradei, senegals, delhezi, teugelsi, and ornates. Without a doubt. Check their website.

I know they do but everytime i ask my guy to get them in he says they arent in stock, like literally they dont even have ropefish in stock. Ive seen all the fish on the website lol and none of them are ever in stock for me.

I finally found the auction that I saw the Albino Rope fish. It was listed in AquaBid.com as a REEDFISH and closed out 26 August 2006. Here is the link for anyone interested: http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/closed.cgi?view_archive_item&fw1156570987

This is my vote as the rarest/hardest to find Bichir I have ever seen. I wish I could have afforded him at the time. Has anyone ever come across another?

Did you ever e-mail the seller to see if he sold it? Im interested to see how much he paid for it and how he got it. It's pretty easy for most animals to tell if they are albino or not so Im interested to see if he realized what it was before anyone else or if he possibly had to pay an arm and a leg/search for it. Either way I would have to agree this would be atop my list at the moment.
