rate my catfish rig

i usually don't have much luck catching bass on plastics(i've only caught a bass on one worm, and that was a piece of a berkley power worm that i let sit) or anything artificial except inline spinners.

so would it be a good idea to respool my reel with some 20lb braid or superline?

I personally dont like braid. Ive broken too many rods with it~!

!?!?!? what test braid? i was thinking of doing 15~20lb line since it would be fairly strong and still pretty small dia. so i could have a couple hundred yards on the reel. would i be less likely to break my rod using superline?

You can break it on 20. I mostly used 50#. Ive broken a rod on a 12" bass setting the hook!

damn, let me guess you set the hook too hard. i usually don't set the hook very hard, guess i'm just too lazy. so is there a small diameter line that won't snap my rod, i know it's not incredibly strong but i haven't broken a rod yet.
