I don't leave the system running, it can clean out his water in 5 mins. It's over kill to run it all the time and i don't want it to disturb him.

It would be a different story if it were an amphibian or fish, but the turtle doesn't breathe the water. Okay, that sounds kinda weird, but you know what I mean!

I know about the nitrogen cycle, I'm out of tester for ammonia, and nitrite, But i would guess its lower than your average fish tank, as the water is pumped into 3 different grow beds with massive root system every day. Water color is age old kelp, I seen people drink that stuff, its good for ya.
