Ray and RTC a good idea?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also, is it ok to have just one? Or should you pair them up?

I would recomend sand or glass as gravel can scratch the rays disk then get infected then die. Rays are super hard to keep and not good for beginners. Need a lot of research and get a motoro because they are the hardiest of rays and are more successful. Good luck on your dream home.:headbang2:headbang2
:barf::jaw::stingray::stingray: lolz some really funny pictures :hitting:

pairing them up depends on the species some just like to be on there own. but on the sand part im not sure they just need a smooth bottom so bare glass or sand. i think they would be more comfortable with a sand bottom though so they can burry themselves to hide

You could pair them up but mater on size of tanks. How big is it? Have to be atleast 400 gallons. Actually about 450 gallons.

Thank you! It seems like the motoro is the best ray to get.

It's going to be a motoro and sand would probobly look better then the bare bottom would. Thanks for the input!

My indoor pond is 10'x6'x3.5' So if i did my calculations correctly it turns out to be 1575 gallons

Just remember to read through the stickies in the ray section and if you have any more questions feel free to post them there as well.

There is a vast pool of knowledge on freshwater rays on this forum, I learn something new almost every day.

The sticky part is important. Although motoros are not overly difficult to keep there is a large amount of work involved and several things you will need to know before jumping in to them

But don't let that scare you they are awesome and couldn't imagine going without any now :)

Is the 10x6x3.5 built yet ?

If it is can we see some pic

If it's not built yet I would wait u ntil it's built before buying any of the fish mentioned

Some not siure abbot this mix but it's the same as any large fish what works for some people may not work for you

No it's not built yet and i don't plan on buying the rays till i do get the tank built. I do have a little RTC tho.

What size tank is the RTC in now ?

Anything smaller than are 350 gal and you better start building now
