i just added my 2 leo/hens to the 450 gal about a week ago.... they were great for a few days but now they lost their appetite and are breathing out of there mouths.... all my big motoros r fine but everyones appetite is down...
this is only happening on my big tank... all other tanks r normal...

no ammonia, ph is norm, no chlorine. last time this happened it was due to me not changin my drip filters.... not the case this time...

any ideas?

airstones and salt.... whats your temp???

Perhaps a powerhead might help?

Were the motoro already established in the tank and if so is it possible they're stressing out the new additions?

yes the motoros r bigger and were the established rays... for about 4 or 5 days the leos were eating aggressively and keeping up fine... it could deff be adding to the prob but dont think its the cause...

what else was in the 450 originally?

originally, 4 motoros from 10 to 16 inches and 20 inch armatus....

im stumped....

the only thing i can think of is there is too much load on my bio balls and they r crudding up.... but wouldnt i have ammonia or nitrate booming if that was the case???

im getting a bio-reactor in a few days.... hopefully this helps...

any other ideas? im out of them....

leo/hens just went back to the qt tank... after 10 mins they r already breathing normal....WTF!!!

deff something going on w the 450:irked:

I think by adding the rays your bio load might have went up, I noticed this when i added another ray to my tank, once it got established to more rays they were fine....

next time add a couple packets of biospira and dose with stability...... how old is your test kit??? another reason i wont use them is i dont trust them... everytime i shocked my bioload i added biospira and or stability...
