ray eating habits/questions

oh hell ya this thread helps , i added it to my favorites !! wow now ive got so many ideas , kinda overwhelming ..lol , but patience will pay off in the end ..
 
Feeders are generally a big no-no for most ray-keepers. It is better, in my opinion, to keep it basic and prevent any infections before you get them. Introducing feeder fish (notorious for infections, not to mention copper treatments which are poisonous to rays) is asking for trouble. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Unless you raise your own feeders, it is just best to stay away from feeder fish altogether.

yup... feeders are very bad not too mention there is no nutrition in them....
 
one of my rays favorite foods are mysis shrimp, their lake shrimp very small like ghost shrimp. most LFS carry mysis shrimp.

the mysis shrimp that i give my rays are:

69.5% protein
7% fat
3% fiber
the other 20% god knows what

also if i try to feed prawns/shrmp , how long do i leave the uneaten food in tank , if it does not eat it ??

ya no luck with the prawns/shrimp , in the black worm goo !@! oh well at least it is eating the worms ..lol , gonna try some red wigglers tomm and give those a shot ..and if that goes well , get the nightcrawlers in the mix !@!
 
get the ray really fat then just starve for a little bit....
