sadly, there are many people out there still using the term, and not even an unknowing buyer, but even the fish stores that are stocking them! my local fish stores labels his teacups all the time, it is so irritating.
 
Substrate looks thick. I have no experience, but I've been warned about it being over 2 inches. Anaerobic bacteria or something. They say at least stir it every now and then.
