It all seems to fall together. First my azian breaks his tail off, now my ray wont eat properly anymore.
Before the weekend all was good and she was active and a little piggy. When i got back home sunday, she refused the shrimp i offered. Now, 2 days later, she still refuses worms, mussel, shrimp... all her favourite foods before.
Her stinger looks like its refreshing or something. Could this be the cause?
Ive watched the other fish closely but nobody bothers her and water is still good too. I dont understand. Im not that experienced with rays so atm im getting a bit worried as i see her get thinner.

Anybody any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

this seems to be a common question for most new ray keepers the answer is , i had this problem when i owned my ray but found i wasn't up to the job of looking after it, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE 2 things you need when owning any stingray
these fish are not so hardy and require alot off attention, and having them in a comunity tank as i did can be quite dawnting especially at feeding time, you have to feed the other fish first fil them up then feed your ray, because the problem i had was feeding them all at the same time the other fish would swim under the ray and steal food out of it's mouth, i also belive that this can also have a negative affect on stingrays by causing them to not feed at all hence why your ray COULD NOT be feeding now.

Any way i think you need to be paitent and keep offering her food worms are always a favorate when it comes to rays so keep trying her with them.

good luck.

thanks guys!

@ dan: offering food will be a bit nasty as shes in the fridge herself, next to the food.
I was feeding her with long plyers. This way she always got her part of the food without the others harassing or stealing it from her.

Very sorry to hear this, very sad. If you get another ray try putting it in it's own tank by itself right from the get go and keep it byself for 2 weeks and get it nice and acclimated, then introduce it to other fish after 2 weeks.
Again sorry for the loss.
