in this poll i would like people to vote which substrate they prefer and why?
also you can choose bare bottom as a option as well.

other options are:
pool filter sand
marine sand
gravel
rocks
3M colorquartz S grade
3M colorquartz T grade
Other

so go ahead and vote and share ur choices!

my choice is the 3M colorquartz S grade.

from my research i found the T grade is a lot more abrasive and could potentially damage the disc of a baby ray. however the T grade is heavier and wont move around as much compared to the S grade which is more rounder and smaller.

barebottom

I have used Estes and recently switched to 3M s grade. Would have kept the Estes but I wanted a darker sand.

if you get the right kind of gravel

its better than any bare bottom or sand

just need to get the right stuff

Bare Bottom and Pool Filter, just depends on which tank....

1 more thing, pool filter sand is nice, but IMO if you want to be able to choose the exact color you want then 3m is the way to go....

or very small pebble gravel like this
