Ray Tank Mate?

Yep that's the start of it
After a short time it will start doing it in the same place a and damaging the slime coat it's more noticeable on black rays
I will get pictures tomorrow

Too many horror stories out there about how someone kept a big cat with their rays for years until one day they found both dead, so I won't even try putting my friendly achara in the same tank
 
I love catfish! I do fear them with other fish though. I would hate to lose anything to an aggressive cat.

I was thinking of maybe a giraffe nose cat or something.

It's not easy getting the right mix...

You people with big cats with rays, how does your cat not get stung? I have lost 3 clown loaches and a bn to ray barbs to the face...

My tig gets pushed around

But all this ray barb thing I have never seen it happen

That tig has been kept with rays for 7 years with no problems
It's not the first tig I have kept with rays

Hmmm, do your rays breed? Maybe mine are short tempered due to pups on the regular...? My female even once stung me on purpose. She did like a jump spin sting. It was horrible.
