80,000 gallons a month.

 That's a lot of water, but considering what you have going on not suprising.

Can you give us some more #s in regards to your facility Mike? Like rough # of ponds, the size and stock of the pond and the amount dripped in that pond ? I know it's a lot of info but I'm also willing to bet you know rough guesses of most of this info right off the top of your head.

Trying to figure out if it's possible to break down a gallon/day/ray figure. But water volume would have to be factored in too I guess.

You seem to set the bar when it comes to healthy rays and I think it would help a lot of us in our own quest for healthy rays to get an idea of where you're at, or what you feel is adequate.

Example... If I'm at 8K / month on a pond with 9 rays am I dripping too much? I have no clue cause I don't have anyone else's #s that I can trust. If you are at significantly less, then it would be safe to say I may be closer to wasting water then actually using it.

I appreciate any insight you can give, and I'm sure others would benefit as well. :)

600 gallons a week
about 4lbs of seafood per week at between $2-$5 per lb 2.2lbs of hiakri sinking carnivore every 2 weeks
and looooots of ULTIMATE water conditioner

I bet you might not hear this too often, but I'm jealous. I wish my #s were that low. :nilly:

Ok here is rough rundown for you.

We have 13 breeding ponds/tanks size per gallons is below.

5 - 800 gallon
2 - 1200 gallon
2 - 200 gallon
2 - 1400 gallon
2 - 4000 gallon

We have 60 adult black rays, all ponds, sump, filters and piping we have total of around 19,000 gallons of water so thats 316 gallons of water for each ray. This is most important part of keeping your rays healthy more water volume per ray better. We drip 2600 gallons a day so thats a 14% change each day.

Now figure out what your numbers are how many gallons per ray? and what your water change % is each day.

Then we can compare these numbers more.
