  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
never got a call from the water company.
I am only at about 2k gallons monthly and no drip.

But I get letters from the electric company 3 times a year on average for the last 4 years.

And they always send me coupons for free cfl light bulbs.

Man my water company never calls me, but they gave it to me good for like 1.5 years. From the day I moved into the house until the day they put a new meter on the house I was paying 120 - 160 every two months. After a year and a half they put a new meter in and now my bills are like 60 or 70 every 2 months. The only thing that changed is instead of 120 Gallons worth of tanks I now have about 300 gallons worth.

I never called about it because what am I going to say? they would just tell me I used more and I would have no proof. I always wanted to do a drip but was scared of the water bill.

I am about 6-7K a month. One thing that we all need to be aware is that most water company calculate your sewage uses based on the amount of water that you use.

Around here, I am paying about $ 6 per 800 gallons of water use. Sewage cost is about $ 4 per 800 gallons.

I had to call the water dept, have an inspector came out to inspect the drip system. I explained that out of 6-7K, 70% goes to my drip system. All the excess water are used to water my yard and foundation. Basically, I never "return " the water back to the city to be process.

He agrees, and now, my sewage is only calculated based on 35% of the water usage.

Hope this helps..

Definitely something for people to keep in mind. A lot of my excess water goes out into the yard (at least in warmer weather), but I don't use enough yet to really bother with telling the water company.

Oh yah, I'm about 750g per month. Don't have anything bigger than a 125g, so water changes aren't too bad (yet).

Were my wife and I live the utilities are included in the rent so no matter how much water and power I use are bill is always the same...

I drip about 10,000 ga11ons a month. I have 2 600 ga11on tanks, a 360 and a 125. A11 on drips.

I got back from paying my water bi11, and my 1and1ord actua11y stopped me and asked how many months I was 1ate in paying my bi11. Shou1d have seen her face when I to1d her I was current on my payments.

(Appo1ogies for the 1eet speak; my keyboard is broken.)

I am very fortunate that our water company has very clean stable water and my 1500 gallon a month plus what we use everyday only costs me $25 a month.
