rays and arowanas

Looks like an Asian Aro, and aren't they one of the more aggressive types?

Also looks like a pretty young ray, and a little emanciated.. Would think you would be better off with larger more robust rays.

think if you add both together at an early stage then they would b ok, I think rays are just as cabable of eating or attacking fish. :headbang2
I lost a £160 scarlet plec to a retic and the only reason I can think of is it didnt like it!!

i have a ray with my aro.....both the same size, doing well and both on pellets and shrimp.

NO LIVE FOOD!

The ray probably died first since it looks really emaciated. Then the aro probably tried to eat it when it was dead. Or since it was so week the aro saw an oppertunity and took it.

I'm not sure what happened but after seeing that pick I will definatly never keep my rays with any kind of aro

never happend to me ... i keep plenty of rays and aros

My rays are also kept with plecos and a red tail arowana without any injuries for the past 6 months

I have to agree that the pup probably died, then the aro tried to eat it. I've never had a problem with aro/ ray combinations. I even kept silver aros in my ray birthing pool.
